Nia Ball , BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing with Small Animal Rehabilitation Having originally been drawn to canine behaviour, BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare (Clinical) student Francesca, wanted a placement that would push her outside her comfort zone. “My placement was at the Hy-Line UK MillenniumHatchery – the largest hatchery in Europe, where they produce day-old chicks. “I wanted to do it as I hadn’t worked with poultry before – I had done dairy and sheep, but poultry was something different. I did it at first to gain new knowledge into the poultry industry – but I enjoyed it so much I am now staying!” BSc (Hons) Agri-food Marketing with Business student Livvy, spent her placement year at Aldi – later winning the Cultura Connect placement prize for her time with them. “My placement year was wonderful... at the start it was quite overwhelming – Aldi threw you in at the deep end.
