Our researchers are working on making the food supply chain more sustainable – from reducing chemicals on crops to cutting emissions per gram of nutrition from livestock products or even discovering alternative food products. Water supplied across our campus comes from our own bore holes – staff and students are encouraged to fill reusable cups or bottles from taps and fountains. We were awarded 00 native species ees to plant across he campus under e Trees for Telford Scheme in 2021. Our Catering Team works hard to reduce volumes of food waste and ensure any food waste is separated from general waste. Insect hotels have been built and installed across the University estate to encourage biodiversity. Green movement - Cycle toWork, car sharing and minimising cross- campus vehicle journeys help us to keep down travel-related emissions.
