As a veterinary nurse your days will be busy, varied, challenging—but most importantly, rewarding. Registered Veterinary Nurses work as part of the veterinary team providing the best possible, evidence- based care for animals. RVNs normally work within a veterinary surgery or veterinary hospital and are involved in a wide range of care and treatment. Why choose Veterinary Nursing at Harper Adams? • Our RCVS accredited courses allow students to apply to register with the RCVS (RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse status) upon completion* • You’ll learn from a large team of Registered Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Surgeons with extensive industry experience and varied interests • Our teaching staff are members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and/or professional committees including the RCVS Veterinary Nursing Council, British Veterinary Nursing Association and the British Veterinary Behaviour Association • Tutorial classes are small - your lecturers can get to know you and tailor the help they offer *Our current Veterinary Nursing routes have been accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. We will work with this awarding body to seek accreditation of the new route once it has been validated. Veterinary Nurses don’t work in isolation – so we believe they should not train in isolation. At Harper Adams our courses and facilities bring together future Registered Veterinary Nurses, veterinary physiotherapists and veterinary surgeons to learn together and promote interprofessional working. For example, final year student veterinary nurses on the Exotic Animal Nursing and Health module have been teaching and learning from Veterinary Medicine students – we have a wide range of talent and expertise that we’re always trying to utilise.
