Topics will include: evolution and behaviour, animals in society, law and diagnosis of behavioural problems. Reaccreditation Our current Animal Behaviour and Welfare (Clinical) route has been accredited by the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) and Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB). We will work with these awarding bodies to seek accreditation of the new route once it has been validated. An accredited degree course is one which has been approved by a professional body, is a marker of quality and provides a graduate with professional accreditation or supports a graduate in becoming professionally accredited which is recognised by employers. Once a university degree course is validated or re-validated, the University undertakes a process to review and check accreditation or reaccreditation of university programmes to ensure alignment with delivery, relevance and associated academic standards. Accreditation or re-accreditation cannot be guaranteed, if accreditation is approved as planned or if there are substantive changes or a delay, the university will communicate with applicants. The course will still run without accreditation, if an applicant does not wish to continue with the course with no accreditation, assistance will be provided to change course or to find a suitable alternative. “I was torn between two universities – Harper Adams and one other institution – in my eyes they were evenly matched, but it was the facilities and resources of Harper which sealed the deal for me," says animal science graduate Lauren Knight. “My classmates [were] really passionate about animal welfare and this has led to some captivating and thought-provoking debates. “If I had to pick one aspect of my degree that I [enjoyed] the most it’s the laboratory work… I’m a practical person so it’s really beneficial for me to get the hands-on experience of something before applying it to the theory.” Readmore.
