Why does land managementmatter? The way we produce food now is damaging our planet and our health. Biodiversity is being lost. Forests are being reduced. Freshwater is being contaminated, and aquatic life is being destroyed. 17 per cent of UK greenhouse gas emissions come from buildings and 12 per cent come from agriculture.** The UK Government has established a net- zero carbon target and has commanded that we preserve 30 per cent of our land for nature by 2030: the 25-year Environmental Plan is geared towards biodiversity net gain.
