Harper Adams University - Prospectus 2024
“Changes in both consumer behaviour and in policy have great implications for business success. To ensurewe continue to deliver the kind of graduates theworld needs, our courses are designed in conjunctionwith business professionals to grow student skill sets in innovation, enterprise, and sustainable supply chains alongside the traditional technical and commercial real-world skills usually associatedwith undergraduate programmes in these areas.” Rebecca Payne, Head of Department, Food, Land and Agribusiness Management We really do mean it. You don’t come to Harper to just be taught business as an academic subject. You come here to do business, to live it and learn from your experiences. Our three routes are designed with this ethos in mind. And our focus is firmly on the future - developing sustainable courses, sustainable careers and sustainable businesses - meaning all are built to last. All three routes have a shared first year - during which you will launch straight into a business project, related to your chosen specialism. You will get stuck in with your new course mates (who might well also be the foundations of your future business network) and deliver something relevant to the real world. Then it’s time to take a step back, while your lecturers and tutors - all highly experienced across a range of industries - start to deliver knowledge that will put your project into context. You’ll gain the skills to evaluate your own project performance and determine how you might have better achieved business success. Then you will start to dig deeper, grow your knowledge of wider business principles and, for the agribusiness or food business routes, the specific challenges or opportunities in those sectors.
