All Honours degree agricultural students study a common first year, which provides a solid foundation fromwhich to progress and specialise in year 2 and beyond. You can continue with a broad agriculture programme or specialise in as below* • Agriculture • Agriculture with Animal Production Science • Agriculture with Crop Production Science • Agriculture with Farm Business Management • Agriculture with FarmTechnology In addition to Honours Degree Agriculture programmes, we also offer a Foundation Degree in Agriculture with the opportunity, subject to performance in year 1, to transfer to the Honours Degree programmes. Alternatively, having completed a Foundation Degree you can top up to a BSc or BSc Hons in Agriculture with a further 12 months of study. *At the time of writing, the agriculture courses at Harper Adams are being reviewed to ensure they provide the best content and experience for students and deliver excellent graduates into the sector. The core route of BSc Agriculture will be offered in 2024, with specialist routes as listed above - subject to validation. Your course will be delivered on and adjacent to our 494 hectare farmwhich surrounds the central campus and includes arable, pig and dairy enterprises. Combined with laboratories, applied engineering centre and campus-wide renewable energy systems, there are an excellent range of resources to demonstrate principles in practice! Furthermore, our central location in the UK allows students to experience a wide range of farming systems on field trips. Our staff are an amazing asset – bringing industry experience and research from the forefront of the discipline into the room for every lecture or tutorial. Placement opportunities are many and varied and a number are supported by scholarships which provide financial support in the second and/or final year of study as well as a salaried placement year job.
