Different paths to university - Degrees + FoundationYear There are countless reasons a student might not follow a ‘traditional’ route to an undergraduate degree. At Harper Adams University, we believe in providing opportunities and paths to enable all prospective students to achieve their long-term goals. Our Degrees + Foundation Year Programme (formerly Extended Degree Programme) gives you the perfect step up to your chosen specialism: teaching you core knowledge, communication skills and industry basics, while also bringing you into your course community – ideal preparation for your journey to undergraduate study. Degrees + a Foundation Year* are a great starting point for students who: • Have taken time out of education and feel a degree is their next logical step for career change or progression • Have qualifications that don’t directly match our entry requirements, such as, O-Levels or international certificates • Prefer to learn in an university environment, rather than at a college or FE provider • Might not have the grades they were hoping for, but still have the drive and passion to come to Harper The Programme builds towards study at undergraduate level – starting with subject-specific content, academic and communication skills and teamworking challenges. All this preparation is to give you the right experience, relationships, contacts and confidence to thrive during your degree. After successfully completing your Foundation Year, you will progress on to Year 1 of your chosen Foundation or Honours Degree and move forward with your study – including completing your year in industry. The Foundation Programme route has minimum entry requirements at GCSE or equivalent level.
