Harper Adams University - Prospectus 2024

Environmental Management graduate, Oliver Mackay is now busy working as a head ranger in the Cairngorms – having previously spent his placement year there at Rothiemurchus Estates. As his forestry and conservation career continues, Oliver has been awarded the Tilhill ‘Top Student’ Award for 2021. The award, in the form of £250 and a carved trophy, is presented to top performing students at universities offering degrees in forestry-related subjects. Speaking after the award David Edwards, Tilhill’s Forestry Director, said: “There has never been a more exciting time for graduates to be starting a career in forestry. The industry is, after all, a part of the solution to mitigate the impact of climate change. “Harper Adams graduates have been particularly successful in obtaining places on Tilhill’s popular graduate training programme. Within Wales we have had more Harper Adams graduates [on the programme] than any other university and we think that is a great reflection on the courses taught there!” Read more here. 50 | UNDERGRADUATE PROSPECTUS 2024 Our latest wildlife and ecology trip showcased the best that Devon had to offer – aquatic fauna, grass snakes, horseshoe bats, brimstone moths, and scores of freshwater invertebrates!
