Trading inner-city Birmingham for the Shropshire countryside, BSc (Hons) Agriculture student Hannah Scott- Cook, has excelled on her course – as well as winning the 2022 Agrovista Award for her placement year. Having not set foot on a farm before her studies, Hannah came to Harper on the Access to Agriculture programme* and is now starting her PhD with us. She explained: "The course practically put me on a level playing field with the other students on my degree who came from a farming background – I didn’t feel completely in the dark when it came to the more practical side of agriculture, like driving a tractor or using a telehandler. “It also connected me to the other people on my course who were in a similar position to me – so I had a community to lean on if I had needed it.” Read more.
