Harper Adams University Postgraduate Prospectus

Musa Shavanov Musa Shavanov is from Chechnya, and is studying MSc International Agribusiness and Food Chain Management full-time. He lives on-campus. “I was attracted to postgraduate study because I wanted to further develop my knowledge and skills in agriculture and gain clearer insight into this industry. During my undergraduate degree I found myself more interested in the management area of agriculture (evaluating risk in farming, developing efficiency of farming, why farmers fail to make profit and so on). Also, being an international student, I am interested in agriculture internationally and hope to help farmers collaborate not only within one country but also between the countries. “We learn in a number of ways. Case studies make you feel that you are actually in charge of a farm. Farm visits are a chance to talk to farm owners in person and get information from current businessmen, while group work allows for interaction with other students as well as lecturers. Having employees and managers on the course gives me opportunities to gain some skills and wise advice from current successful people as well as observe professionals from industry.” International students’ society Planet Harper is the international club for students from all over the world and all are welcome to this friendly club.
