We have established partnerships with a range of diverse companies and professional bodies. For instance, we provide several specialist vocational postgraduate courses to the food industry including Postgraduate Certificates, Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters degrees in Meat Business Management (supported by The Worshipful Company of Butchers), Dairy Business Management, Food Industry Management and Poultry Business Management. We also validate and deliver a PgC Food and Fresh Produce Management in conjunction with the Management Development Services (MDS) training programme. The Animal Production, Welfare and Veterinary Sciences Department also offers a PgC in Small Animal Surgery, PgC in Small Animal Medicine, and Official Controls Qualification (Veterinary). It has broadened my horizons and shown me a different perspective on things.” A Master Butcher with more than 20 years’ experience, Marco Peerdeman is studying MSc Meat Business Management part-time, attending Harper Adams for week-long blocks four times a year. Originally from The Netherlands, Marco now lives and works in Greater London, running his own butchery and meat consultancy business, OrangeButcher Ltd. “Postgraduate study is a good way to meet more people, learn and enhance your career possibilities and develop your personal and professional skills,” he said. Marco has also shared his skills and experience with the course’s newest recruits, presenting a live butchery demonstration at the university.
